A key element of our sustainability agenda is to ensure that all our suppliers reach minimum sustainability criteria, so that you in turn can rely on the sustainability of our supply chain when purchasing from Cherwell.
Most of our suppliers operate on a global basis, with local UK operations. However, it is important that we are able to consider the sustinability of their wider operations, and not just those in the UK. Our membership of INPACS, an international sales and purchasing organisation in the cleaning and hygiene industry, offers an excellent platform from which we can undertake this wider assessment. As a key element of their own sustainability programme (see earlier blog article INPACS sustainability leadership) INPACS have undertaken a full sustainability audit as part of their EcoVardis certification programme.
At present, some twenty-five suppliers have published an EcoVadis scorecard, with an average score of 56.8 (Silver medal status). These suppliers represent over 50% of our global procurement volume. These suppliers are:

We will continue to work with all our suppliers at local and international levels to ensure that they are continuing to improve the sustainability of their operations.
