Sarah's 100 Challenge

Inspired by the incredible ‘100 laps of the garden before I am 100’  fund raising efforts of Captain Sir Tom Moore, Cherwell's Sarah Upton embarked upon her own 100 challenge - a 100 mile walk through rural Warwickshire.

Sarah Upton is key part our purchasing team, who works ceaselessly in support of the firm and her colleagues.
One such endeavour, has led her to complete her ‘100 mile challenge’ in support of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, a charity dedicated to raising funds for research into the prevention and cure of MS as well as providing support for individuals (and their families) who suffer from this debilitating disease.

Sarah was both moved and inspired by the personal story of one of her colleagues, Silke, whose husband Bill, has suffered from MS for many years. Never one to complain, and always cheerful, Silke has worked tirelessly for the MS Society, and founded one of its national support groups, Mutual Support, bringing together MS suffers and their families who have a direct link to the Armed Services.

Also inspired by the incredible ‘100 laps of the garden before I am 100’ fund raising efforts of the now legendary and celebrated Captain Sir Tom Moore, Sarah decided to embark on her own 100 challenge involving as she put it “walking, rolling, or strolling to stop MS”, a gruelling 100 mile walk over the roads and rambling paths of rural Warwickshire in the space of a few days. To keep her company, Sarah's son, Harry, said that he would complete the walk with Sarah, something he wanted to achieve before 18th birthday.

We are delighted and proud to say that Sarah successfully completed her walk, with Harry at her side, raising significant funds for the MS Society along the way.
